Due to the success of Miracle Walk, the NICU at Saint Barnabas Medical Center has been able to purchase additional state-of-the-art equipment shown below.

*NEW!* Crib Notes™, specialized software for NICU’s, was purchased with last year's Miracle Walk proceeds. Crib Notes™ software provides an electronic medical record at the baby’s bedside which enhances safety, communication and access to information for nurses and staff. The software also includes a system for communication from the baby’s care team to the parents.	NEW! NAVA - Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist, attaches to the ventilators in the NICU to send "messages" from a baby's brain to the ventilator and tells it to deliver exactly what he or she needs, reducing the risk of over- or under-inflating the baby's lungs.
Giraffe® OmniBeds® with scales improve the quality of care by providing heat and humidity to extremely premature infants. The OmniBed® elevating hood provides instant access to the baby at a touch of a button.	Air/oxygen blenders are devices that mix air and oxygen to precise concentrations. Air/oxygen blenders improve the quality of care by providing infant’s with the precise amount of oxygen needed and preventing oxygen toxicity by administering too much oxygen to premature lungs.
Continuous Blood Gas Monitoring System improves the quality of care by reducing the need for blood sampling by tracking critical PC02, P02 and pH levels.	DINAMAP® ProCare blood pressure machines improve the quality of care by providing fast, accurate readings.
neoBLUE® LED phototherapy lights improve the quality of care by incorporating a state-of-the-art blue LED light source to treat newborn jaundice (yellowing of skin). Using LED light has been clinically proven to be most effective in breaking down bilirubin.	Draeger Air-Shields® Isolettes® improve the quality of care by creating a thermal-neutral environment.
Neopuff™ infant resuscitators improve the quality of care by providing consistent, small, regulated amounts of pressure to inflate the premature infant's lungs when they cannot breathe effectively for themselves. Early damage to the lungs may be prevented by using the Neopuff™.	Draeger Air-Shields® Isolette® Infant Transporters improve the quality of care by providing a mobile neonatal intensive care system, to accommodate the most critical infants during transport.
Ultrasound transducers improve the quality of care by providing extremely accurate ultrasound pictures of the infant's vital organs.	Draeger Air-Shields® Radiant Warmers improve the quality of care by providing warmth while the healthcare team has direct access to the infant.
PHILIPS IntelliVue Monitors improve the quality of care by providing healthcare providers more of the information they need right at the patient’s bedside presented in clear and meaningful ways. The monitor has touch screen technology for ease of use and the data display is bright and easy to read.	Getinge Surgical Scrub sinks improve the quality of care through the sink design which allows for everyone entering the NICU to be able to wash their hands, up to the elbow without water spilling on the floor. There is no need to touch a faucet with your hands as the water turns on with the touch of your knee. Hand washing is the single most important measure to prevent infections in the NICU.
Vapotherms® improve the quality of care by providing warmed, high flow and high humidity oxygen and/or air to infants requiring nasal cannulas.	PEDIASCAN® transilluminators improve the quality of care by using a high intensity light to help visualize veins and arteries to start IVs and to draw blood.
Datascope® Spectrum™ Monitor is one of the most versatile monitors available with the features most needed for critical patients, including 8 selectable wavefoms, diagnostic 12-Lead ECG, multiple invasive blood pressures, a comprehensive calculations package and cardiac output.	TINA Transcutaneous Carbon Dioxide Monitors improve the quality of care by continuously monitoring and displaying carbon dioxide levels so that ventilation can be adjusted to maintain carbon dioxide within normal range.
Medfusion™ 3500 Syringe Pump is an intuitive system designed to enhance safety while maintaining simplicity. The Medfusion™ Syringe platform has been the technology leader in syringe pumps with its innovations in syringe recognition, drug libraries and dose limits. The Pharmgaurd® software included in these pumps allows versatile libraries to be built by the hospital which gives very specific option to choose from based on each patient and medication. This enables increased protection against medical errors.	TEMPUR®-MED Incubator mattresses are highly effective in providing comfort and skin protection for the neonate. Made with exclusive TEMPUR, a premium high-density viscoelastic material, reacting more like a fluid than the traditional mattress and ultimately provides superior comfort and skin protection. All TEMPUR®-MED products are covered with a waterproof and removable PU-cover, which is easy to clean, disinfect and sterilize. The TEMPUR® material is covered with a special antimicrobial treatment, which ensures a very high hygienic standard.
